Minor Skin Surgery

With the pressures on NHS waiting lists, there is often long delay between diagnosis and an actual treatment plan.

Lesions deemed non-cancerous are given low priority and patients are expected to face long waits for assessment and treatment at hospital whilst the lesion grows and impacts on quality of life.

Trauma scars (such as split earlobes) are given low priority or deemed to be cosmetic surgery.

Hence, we are delighted to offer a plastic surgery skin lesion removal service if your GP has deemed the lesion as routine or non-urgent.

These are usually performed under local anaesthetic as a day case (home same day).

Non-cancer Lesion removal

Should you be concerned by skin lesions, such as warts, moles, cysts, lipoma, or other small lumps, we can arrange removal for you usually under local anaesthetic. This patient had a lesion curetted off.

Scar revision

Scars can be refashioned, if treated elsewhere with an unsatisfactory outcome.
This patient developed an extensive keloid scar after surgery elsewhere and needed removal with steroid injections to achieve the outcome.

Earlobe Surgery

Split or dilated earlobes can be repaired to restore the contours of the lobe. This patient had splits restored and is six weeks post-operative.

We are increasingly seeing patients with NHS treatment delays using this service or where they have been refused treatment by their GP and wish to go ahead privately.
