Post Weight Loss Surgery

After gastric banding or bypass surgery, patients can typicallly lose 10-15 stone over 2-3 years leaving large areas of redundant skin in the torso, thighs, arms and chest. There are select procedures to address these:

  • Brachioploasty (Arm Reduction)
  • Thigh Reduction
  • Abdominoplasty (Abdominal Reduction)

Belt Lipectomy (Body Lift)

Above is an example of a belt lipectomy patient at two months. The procedure involves removal of redundant skin and fat from the front and back, thigh lift and buttock lift. These are major procedures and will require individualised assessment for suitability

Fleur-de-Lys abdominoplasty

This patient has had a Fleur-de-Lys abdominoplasty which is a more extensive tummy tuck shaped like an inverted letter ‘T’. Previous extensive weight loss and a further 5kg of tissue removed at surgery. Two month view is shown.
